When you lose power to your security system the panel has a 24-hour backup battery that it will rely on for power. As the battery power gets low you may receive phone calls from the monitoring station informing you of this problem. The reason you receive these calls is so that you can re-charge the battery, or replace it, if necessary, before the battery dies and your system loses communication with the monitoring station, leaving your home and family unprotected.
If you are already aware of the low battery and would like to stop these phone calls, you can call in to the monitoring station and place the Low Battery Signal on a test. To do this you can call in to 1-866-265-2065. You will need to provide the operator with your monitoring account number and master pass code (or false alarm code). They will place just that signal on a test for the time period which you specify. Doing so will stop the phone calls about the low battery, but you will still receive the 24 Central Station monitoring on all other signals that go through on your system.
