When using QUICK ARM, the system lets you set the alarm by pushing the # sign and then pushing AWAY.When I return, it will not let me shut off the alarm using my every day code, why???
Additionally, my every day code is 5555, this does not shut of the quick arm, (5555 is also my installer code).1234 also works as set alarm and turn off alarm. I would prefer to use the 5555 code.
The installer code (5555) will only disarm the system IF it armed the system. This is designed to prevent an installer from installing your system, then, when you are away, coming back to rob you and having a code that will disarm the system.
When you use the Quick arm feature, the system uses the master code to arm (this is why the installer code is not working to disarm).
If you wish to use the digits 5555 then you will need to change your installer code to something else. To do this follow the keystrokes below:
The screen will show "Installer code 20"
Enter *20 then 4112.
The panel will ding and show "Quick Arm 21"
This will take you back out of programming.
You will need to use a mastercode for everyday use. To set your mastercode enter the sequence below:
4112 802 5555
You must do this outside of the programming menus and have quick, successive keystrokes. You do not want any pauses as you enter the sequence in.
You have now set your new Master code (5555)
Going forward, the 4112 should only be used for programming functions on your system.
