Simon XTi - Alarm Sounds As Soon As I Open The Door

This type of problem is caused by having the door sensors in the wrong group. All of your sensors are assigned a particular "group number". When the contact is tripped, it transmits the signal to the panel. The panel uses the zone/group type to determine what action to take. For example, in a Simon XTi, a door is assigned for a group 10, which gives an entry/exit delay so that you have time to disarm your panel when you enter the home. If it is accidentally assigned to a group 13, for example, there will not be any delay and the alarm will go off immediately.

The following are the correct group types for sensors on the Simon XTi:

Indoor Motion Sensor................17

Outdoor Motion Sensor.............25 (chime only)

Entry/Exit Door..........................10

Interior Door..............................14

Window.....................................13

Smoke Detector.........................26

Keyfob.......................................01

Remote Handheld Touchpad....01

CO Alarm..................................34

Freeze Sensor...........................29

Water Sensor.............................38

Smoke or Heat Detector............26
