I recently discovered that the two wires ( for my Simon XT system) were disconnected from the power transformer (the part that plugs into the wall with the two screws on the backside). I have been trying to figure out how to reconnect the wires to the transformer, only to realize that I am missing the two connector pieces needed to connect the wires to the screws. I was wondering if there is any way to order just the two connector pieces or if i need to order an entire new transformer?

Thank you,

  • Hi Laura,

Great question. The two little ''spade connectors'' can be ordered however you should able to obtain them locally. I would recommend going to a local hardware type store or even a Radio Shack type store and you will be able the pick them up very cheap. This would save you from having to pay shipping and allow you to have your system powered back up today!

The other option would be to just connect the copper wire directly to the screw terminals on the transformer. You may have to strip the plastic jacket back a bit, but you could then just wrap the wire around the terminal and tighten the screw down. This would allow you to fix it the quickest and is a perfectly acceptable solution as well. Just make sure you have the transformer unplugged when you hook the wires up. Both wires can go to either terminal, there is no polarity that needs to be observed.

Hope this helps, have a great day!
