  • Hi John,

I am not aware of a native solution for the Simon XT as the X10 Technology has been replaced with ZWave

You would need to have some interface for X10 to tie into the Simon XT. In the past (Simon version 3) you could hook up a X10 transformer and be able to control lights.

With the XT, UTC Fire and Security (Formerly GE Fire and Security) never officially supported X10.

The only thing I can think of is using a PSC-01 from X10 and changing HW1 Function (this is in the System Options menu) to a 2 or 3 and using the arming and disarming of the system to activate your PSC-01, which in turn activates your Garage door.

  • Hi John,

I actually have the PSC-01 from X10 connected to my garage door opener, but have not replaced my Simon XT's original transformer with the GE Security Simon 3 X-10 Powerline Carrier Transformer (purchased from  Brinks Home Security) Based on your above answer, do I still need to replace my Simon XT's transformer with the GE Security Simon 3 X-10 Powerline Carrier Transformer or do I 'ONLY' need to make the HW1 Function you suggested?
