how to wire a 4 wb system sensor smoke detector

i am replacing a 4 wire BRK smoke detector with a System Sensor 4 WB and have a question re wiring.  Does the red wire go to the first + terminal and the black wire to the - terminal?  How about the yellow and green wires?  do they go to the N.O. and C terminals and, if so, is there a sequence or are connections interchangeable?  thanks

  • Hello Bob,

For 4 wire smokes, typically the Red is Positive (+) and will go to the 1st (+). Black is Negative (-), the green is for ground and yellow is N/O. You would feed the power to the 2nd smoke from the 2nd (+) on the 1st  Smoke.

You will need to install the panel specific resistor and End of Line Power Supervision Relay (EOLR) as well.
