I've just added a remote 4229 expansion to a Vista 20P to cover our shop.  Wired the door/window contacts programed *56 no problems. Installed the smoke/ fire detectors and getting a check fire 22. Because we have zone doubling on the main panel I installed the 4229 as module 2. Programed *56 ZN 22' ZT 16, P 2, RC 10, IN:AD AW:08  *79 output 02  type 1, Mod address 8, R1 position as 1. *80= RO2 0 - 2 ZT=16 (and tried may other configurations) What do you suggest? After we get this working we need to install the sounder..... Thanks, Wilson

  • I found the problem to be a wiring issue. However please check my settings, any suggestions would be appreciated Thank You, Wilson

  • Wilson,

Your zone programming in *56 looks good, and nothing wrong with what you have in *79 either. What do you need to activate with the programming in *80 though? I'm not sure if that is right. Also what type of smoke detector do you have hooked up?

  • I think your last message was cut off, this is all I got:

"I'm not sure what your asking about *80. The smoke detectors are 4 wire

    Smoke is a sign..."

If you are using the relay output as a smoke reset you will want to set it as a zone type 54, also you need to use the same relay in *80 as you do in *79. So if you define R01 in *79 then in *80 you will need to use R01.
