Hello- I have a Simon XT, and I want to get some sort of sensor for my patio sliding doors, but I'm not sure which is best.  My doors are currently covered with: living room: a sliding door that has heavy plastic plantation shutters, and bedroom: a woven bamboo type cover with a room darkening shade behind.  I'm concerned that the GE glass break sensor might not pick up the sound with these window coverings.  The other options are the vibration sensor, or the older glass break sensor that attaches right on the glass (assuming that model works on Simon XT).  What do you think is my best option? Thank you in advance!

  • Hi Gene,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Your best option would be the 60-886-95.  This can detect vibration and has dip switch settings where you can set your sensitivity.  It also can detect open and close reports as it comes with a magnet that installs with the sensor.
