Can somebody tell me the function of a 5819WHS?

I have several 5819WHSs in boxes, but I can find no literature on how to actually use one.  Do you attach it to a door or window frame and attach the magnet to the door or window?  And, is the magnet for open close functions, so it can replace an existing 5816 door or window sensor?

Thanks and regards,

RobL

  • Hello Rob,

I have attached the installation instructions for the 5819WHS. It will tell you most of what you need to know about how to mount the sensor. The 5819WHS can be used as a shock sensor as well as an open/close sensor. So to answer your question it can replace an existing 5816. Again thank you for contacting Brinks Home Security and have a great day!

  • Hi Dustin!  Thanks so much for your help.  My L5100 is going live with Brinks this evening, upgraded from an older Lynx.  Because this sensor uses two zones, one for open/close and one for shock, (I have no idea what the third one is for or how to set it up), can you tell me the Device Type that I should be setting?  I have it set to Glass Break, but that's not really what it is...

    Thanks and regards,

    Rob

  • Hi Rob,

The zone programmed for the shock loop of sensor you can set to Glassbreak, the zone set up for the open/close loop can be set to Door or Window, respectively.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Hello Anthony!

Thanks so much for your answer - that's great news as that's how I have them set, I just wasn't sure.

    Regards,

    Rob

  • Sorry, one final question on these (I hope)...the literature doesn't say whether to mount the sensor on the frame and the magnet on the door, or to mount the sensor on the door and the magnet on the frame, or does it matter?  Thank you again...
