Thermostat Advanced and Installer Tabs

I am doubting that all the settings are right for my thermostat. My emergency heat kicks in sooner than expected. I need to access the more advanced settings and the installer tab. I see these tabs available by other vendors. How do I get to mine?

  • Hi Charles,

What system do you have? The process will differ based on panel.

  • I am using the IQ touch panel and the alarm.com smart thermostat. When I log in online I don't have the installer tab or the other advanced tab.

  • Try this.

On the main page in the bottom right hand corner (from a desktop) click on your Thermostat. Then click on Advanced Configuration.

I would take a look at your "Overshoot" once you locate the tab.

  • The settings I need are in the tabs not shown in the image. The tabs are called advanced and installer. I know they are turned off and need to be enabled. Other companies that use alarm.com have them accessible. Brinks is not letting us have full control over our smart thermostats.

  • Can you send an image of exactly where you're seeing these options?

  • That is the issue. The tabs are not there. I have spoken with alarm.com through Brinks support. The tabs are disabled per Brinks. Myself and other users would like to have full control over our system. If you reach out to alarm.com they will tell you what I have stated. That is where I got my information.

  • I'm having the same issue as Charles.  I'd like access to the Installer tab under thermostats.  I should be right next to the tab that states "USER".  It's in your screenshot above.  Please advise on how I can get access to the installer tab.

  • The red circle above shows where the "installer" tab should be.

  • Charles and Neal,

Do you mind sending me your customer ID's, so I can review your accounts?

    Send them to tmcelroy@brinkshome.com

  • Having the same issue trying to install a Z Wave outlet. Brinks has locked down our panels without notice, and each time I call to find an explanation or solution, I get the same “I’ll have someone call you back” bogus message. What an incredibly awful way to treat long-time customers.

  • Thank you all for your patience.

I'm still working on a resolution for you all.  I should have an update shortly.

  • I only have the "USER" tab as well.  I just installed my ADC T2000 yesterday and it doesn't seem to be very accurate. We've had our house at 69 for a while using the Sensi wifi thermostat and it was always on point.  Last night, with all the same settings and all the wiring correct, it felt much colder.  So having more control like the original poster requested, would be helpful to make sure I have my thermostat set how I want.

  • Update: As far as I know I have responded to every message and nothing is changing. My system has not been anywhere near as efficient as it was. This thermostat is NOT programmed correctly and I cannot get to the necessary adjustments. I had to run my system on emergency heat most of the winter to force the second stage to kick in. If this is not addressed soon, this thermostat will be removed for a Nest. They have the controls available.
